I decided to order this dressform, so that I would no longer have to struggle with measurements and guesswork. Right now, I do not use patterns, and I envisioned draping fabric on the dress form, pinning and sizing everything up, like magic.
Well, I am still trying to figure all of this out. This dress form is handy, though I am not as pleased with it as I hoped I would be. It is very easy to put together, though I would be happier if it was heavier, sturdier-not so easy to tip or rock. I like that it spins on the stand. I thought the dials would be easier to use-they seem to want to pop back, spring-action, when the dials are turned up/out too high. Alas, I do not find that this model "models" my proportions exactly-you cannot expand butt, without also expanding the hips. I think the upper portion of the dressform will be more useful for fitting. Guess I will have to work with it, it has some limitations, but it also has some advantages that I have yet to explore.

4Satisfied with product but give thought to sizeApr 18, 2009

Amazon seems to have combined the review of the medium and large at some point because I see the product is now labeled as LARGE and at least one other person clearly reviewed the medium. I would still make sure you check the measurements on this item carefully. I would say the medium I have could stretch to fit a 16 or 18 so just make sure it contracts and expands the way you need it too. If they don't give that info here you may want to check the manufacturers website.

My Original Review: "The medium I bought was to use as a form to create a Mardi Gras costume. When I ordered it I chose this model mostly because of the better reviews. People didn't seem as pleased with the smaller version. I also assumed that since I wore a medium, a medium would be a good size to choose. I wear a 10-12 in clothing size.

Now that I have it, I wish I would have gotten a small. The 30 inch waist is not small enough and while I could have easily added some padding to the small, there is no way to subtract from the medium. You may want to spend a little time looking at all the measurements on the small form vs. the medium and see which allows the most latitude in adjustment for your particular body style."

3Needs a lot of improvementJul 01, 2009

My fiance bought this dress form for her personal use.
She says that is a very versatile dress form since you can adjust almost everything on it.
The only downside is that this thing is very flimsy... It has plastic legs that most certainly will break if you accidentally step on them.
it also is very lightweight...so expect the thing to tip over while working on it.
Overall its a good idea that has A LOT of room for improving.
Instead of buying 3 wolf dress form (professional dress forms) you can buy one of this and it will do the work

I am quite happy with this form. Some complain it is lightweight. For the price I am not sure what they expected. These are $200 in stores. I had a similar one before and it is great to adjust patterns for sewing. With this I can make items that fit perfectly. I have no issues with them falling over. For the home sewer I think these are great.

4good for what it was bought forOct 20, 2009

I bought this form to help in making my wedding dress. The form it's self is great. The fabric covering the form really helps make the fabric your using cling. Which is helpful in pinning. I have been having a little bit of a hard time keeping her up at my height. But I fixed that by drilling a hole in the base and putting a cotter pin in. (if your a handy person doing this will help keep her up. I also have used her to put my costume dresses (for Halloween) on to clean them. She seemed to hold up to that. My only real complaint is I would have loved for her to rotate all the way around, or be on wheels.
